Kirsten Dunst has spoken out in support of her husband, Jesse Plemons, after he was not included in this year’s Oscars nominations.

The prestigious list of nominees was announced Thursday, with Plemons notably absent.

Plemons, who gained early recognition for his role on Breaking Bad, recently starred in the film Bugonia alongside Emma Stone.

In Bugonia, Plemons portrays Teddy Gatz, a deranged beekeeper who abducts Michelle Fuller, the pharmaceutical CEO played by Emma Stone.

The actor has built a reputation for portraying eccentric and menacing characters, including Todd Alquist on Breaking Bad, known for his escalating acts of violence.

Dunst showed her support by reposting an Instagram story originally shared by her Bugonia co-star, Stavros Halkias.

The post featured a photo of Halkias looking angry, with a superimposed hand holding a gun pointed at the camera. The caption read: “Me to everyone who didn’t nominate Jesse Plemons for Best Actor tho.”

Dunst shared the post, seemingly as a show of support for her husband and his performance in the film.

This year’s Best Actor nominees include Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Leonardo DiCaprio

“Jesse Plemons delivers one of the greatest performances of all time,” said producer Ev Durán.

“His work in this film reaches a Daniel Day-Lewis, Sidney Poitier level transcendence. I worry it’s being completely overlooked in favor of Chalamet’s Marty Supreme, which was a strong performance but what Plemons does here is on another level entirely.”

Earlier this month, Dunst also shared a photo from Bugonia, captioning it: “Some top-level s**.”*

The Interview with the Vampire star previously spoke to PEOPLE about continuing her career in film and television after her breakout role in the 1994 Anne Rice adaptation.

“I feel very proud that I can keep doing the films I want to do,” she said. “And that the industry has embraced me and continues to do so. I really appreciate growing up, finding my path, and being part of making movies that mean a lot to me.”
