A$AP Rocky has opened up about the support he’s received from Rihanna while recording his upcoming studio album, Don’t Be Dumb. The rapper also shared how important it is for them to still “spice things up” in their relationship while juggling busy careers and raising three young children.

In a recent episode of The Ebro Show, A$AP Rocky revealed how grateful he is to Rihanna for giving him the time and space to focus on recording his new album.
Don’t Be Dumb, which dropped earlier this month, features an impressive lineup of collaborators including Brent Faiyaz, Doechii, Gorillaz, Tyler, The Creator, and Westside Gunn. The album also includes a diss track aimed at his former friend, Drake.

Speaking about Rihanna’s support during the recording process, A$AP Rocky whose real name is Rakim Mayers shared how she gave him the space he needed to focus on his music.
“Yo, it be like that sometimes, bro. Even with this album, she totally fell back and was like, ‘Do your thing, baby. I know you gotta be locked in for a couple of months. Go ahead, get right,’” he said.
He went on to praise how supportive she was, while also stressing the importance of keeping their relationship fun and exciting.
“She was super supportive. But you gotta spice it up. You gotta still date. You gotta still be friends,” he explained. “We roll dice. We play cards. You know what I’m saying? She a cheetah. We be playing Crazy Eights. It’s real out here.”

Recalling a recent moment together, A$AP Rocky added: “Like last night shout out Yams. $Yams. Yams Day. We just had a whole Crazy Ace competition at his event.”
He went on to stress the importance of keeping their connection alive, saying: “We gotta keep the funk going, ’cause if not, what we doing then?”
Last September, just ahead of the couple’s baby announcement, A$AP also addressed the moment he referred to himself as Rihanna’s “husband” during an interview with Perfect Magazine.
“Being a father and a partner and a loving husband in my family is what makes me really, really happy,” he said at the time despite the couple publicly not being married.
However, when later speaking to Elle, he teased fans with a playful response, adding: “How you know I’m not already a husband?”

Emphasizing how important family time is to him, A$AP Rocky added: “We don’t really talk about work too much, because we deal with that all day, every day.
“When you come home, it’s about family. It’s about your relationship. It’s about your household. It ain’t about all that other s**t.”
His comments come after a source told PEOPLE that Rihanna is said to be “over the moon” about welcoming a baby girl.
“She’s obviously so grateful for her boys all three of them but she’s been ready for some more girly energy,” the insider shared. “She’s over the moon about her baby girl.”
